Why we chose to use the word “secular” in our book titles. With the release and publication of Genesis A Secular Kids Book, there has been some discussion as to the use of the word “secular” in the title. The title passed to a few friends and advance readers before finally settling on the series title and use of the word. Using a very narrow, but completely accurate definition, secular refers to things that are not religious by nature, or have “no religious or spiritual basis”. Thus, having secular Bible or religious stories would seemingly be an oxymoron.
